Although it's not perfect like the first one, it's still excellent. The flight sequences are now enhanced with a great score, but they're not as exhilirating like the first time around (maybe I should have seen it in 3D?).
Once again, any dog or cat lover will adore this film since whoever is doing the animations for the dragons is clearly an animal lover and is capturing their best qualities and moments of having a pet. It's also visually-stunning. I could watch flapping dragon wings disrupt cloud formations for quite a while.
I don't understand people saying that it borrows from Game of Thrones. This is a kid's movie through and through. Is it because there are dragons in it? Is that all it takes to connect the dots these days?
There's quite a few action sequences so the movie does feel a little long in the tooth (har!) by the end but it's still a great ride. Surprsingly emotional as well, this one got me and I was embarassed. Great flick, safe to assume there will be another one.
