I may have released my top ten of the year a little prematurely. Got to see this over the weekend right before it lost to Big Hero 6 on Sunday night. This is just an amazing animated film and any fan of animation should really see it (that's you, Barnes!). I brought my 4-yr old girl to it as her first movie experience ever in theatres. 93 minutes later when the house lights went up, "I want to see it AGAIN!"
It also has I think the best animated dog I've ever seen. So cute.
It's by the same makers as The Book of Kells which I imagine none of you saw. This is a much better film than that even. All about Irish mythos around the Giant's Causeway, faeries and all that.
Great movie about the relationship between an older brother and his adorable little sister, Saoirse (pronounced SEER-SHUH, possibly my new favourite name for a girl).
So beautifully animated, pencils and watercolours!! I really hope you get to see it. Audiernce all clapped twice at the end, which is a rare thing these days.
Heart rating: 5 stars
Brain rating: 4 stars (it's a kids movie after all)
