You might be curious about the title of this column. You might read it and say to me “Hey, Matt, why are you bothering to review a six-year old game that a lot of people have played, discarded and moved on from and which now appears to be out of print”? It’s a valid question, so I’ll answer it. The reason is because the more I’ve played this game, the more I’ve become convinced it’s been the victim of one of the most unjustified hatchet-jobs the internet has to offer. And after mentioning it in last weeks' column I...

That's right, a review of a long dead CCG. Why would I do such a thing? Because if you're at all like me, then you've probably played CCGs back in the 90's, but eventually quit them like they were a bad drug addiction when you finally came to your senses. You haven't touched the stuff in years. But then, one day, you came across some of your old cards out in the garage, or up in your closet behind some old stuff, and you took them out and looked through them, enjoying the feeling of nostalgia and fondly remembering...

I have played this game and you have not. Hail, GAME Z!
It's really too bad, because I know a lot of you folks would love TRAIN RAIDER. I think it's probably the coolest, most fun, and likely best train game I've ever played. It would be a great game for a company like Z-Man or Fantasy Flight to pick up- it's totally unique, innovative, and daring in a way that many games released today simply aren't.

Cast you mind a good few months and hopefully you'll recall that co-operative games are al rubbish. So it might seem a bit of a surprise to see this piece on here authored by me, especially considering that Arkham Horror is probably one of the most talked about games around here. So what's the point in discussing it all over again? Well, this is what comes of everyone telling me I ought to write more reviews about Ameritrash games: AH is the only solidly AT game that I've played enough times to warrant a review...

When I was about 8 years old I found an old book at a book sale called "What is Dungeons and Dragons". It described some bizarre sort of game where the players wandered about being minor heroes in some Tolkeinesque fantasy world, which sounded like it might be fun. But right at the back of the book was the passing mention of something that sounded even better - a game where the players got to be god-like rulers over tribes of bizarre and frightful creatures such as sentient pumpkins, mutated bats and talking duck warriors. As a...
