I've recently been working on an article / blog post that involves a lot of numbers. Specifically, numbers that we have not shared including our costs for games, our profit margins, our exchange rate riders, etc.
And I'm just not sure if it's an article I should post.
I'm uncomfortable with the idea of posting this information, even though a dedicated researcher could actually find out most of this information. It's not as if other writers have not provided much of this data already, it's just that for once, most of this information is going to be in one location and spelled out quite explicitly.
In addition, providing these stats provides my competitors more data about me than I'd like. Then again, see above - it's not as if they couldn't guess most of this anyway.
Lastly, I'm just not sure it's that much of a value add of a post. I wrote this article in relation to our margins and pricing - specifically; our decision to not 'match' US online store pricing. However I don't see the value to our actual customers of this post - they've obviously already made their decision to buy from us. I also doubt those who send me such questions really care - they're just looking for the best deal they can get.
I wonder, what's your thoughts?
