ConnCon, the convention that we North Eastern F:ATies have pretty much claimed as our own is about to wrap up and it was a damn good time. I arrived on Thursday and had a full four days of solid gaming. It will come as no surprise to people that have actually played with me that over that length of time I did not win a single solitary thing. That's one of the cool things about playing games with cool people is that the winning is really unimportant. That being said, I have...

I've been with Lunchtime Studio's for about a year now. I've been helping to design 'Lords of New York'. Before that I was a restaurant manager - most recently at Burger King. So I was at ConnCon yesterday showing off our new game - 'Lords of New York'. A friend of mine came up to me and said "Well last I heard you were working for Burger King. This is especially true with anything collectible or "living", because the price for buying into a miniatures game is very high if you make a poor choice. So, while I played Fantasy Flight's X-Wing Miniatures game...

In the game, Fields of Fire, you take on the role of a company commander in the 9th US Infantry leading your men through various battles in World War II, Korea, or Vietnam. That sounds like pretty standard fair for a war game but this game is anything but standard. Ben Hull, the designer, has a unique take on the subject. It is in that unique vision that the triumph and the tragedy of this game lay. ..................................................................... The cool scent of dusk hovers, the sun will soon retire to silent slumber. The forest grows dark, but you are not fooled — under shadow lies life, and with breathe comes probable danger. You will ascend to the tower in the distance this midnight. Silhouette firm but ever fading, you know not what lies within its walls…it does not matter, it is no match for you, it is no match for a Mage Knight. One of the most rewarding moments for me as a fairly new board game enthusiast is infecting long...
