Just sharing a few TrashFest ’09 nuggets with you chatty chipmunks. I managed to make all four days of the Game Days/TrashFest con in Maryland this year, with the last day being spent (as is now a tradition) with my kids. Game Breakdown I typically play a combination of crossover games, high-interaction Euros, and heady Trash, but – as my Trashfest ’09 ranking can attest (#3 in trash points, baby!) – I spent more time on the Trashies this year. Could be that the swine flu was in full effect, or that 25 years of syphilis is...

So, I didn't Go to Trashfest. I could have. I probably should have. It ends up a good thing that I didn't go, but I regret it. I had a final project due Monday that my group ended up working on Sunday. (my last project, last assignment in college...ever?) so ok. Plus I got to go to Spiel at...

As an envoy of Chaos, I went forth to Trashfest to sow chaos and sleep with as many eurochicks as possible. At least I was partially successful. I also rediscovered that is completely possible to live completely on beer and Doritos (well maybe with a bit of cheap rum to add variety.) Seriously, in four days I had the buffet breakfast once and a salad from Chilis. If you count Kingputs' Zatarans rice dish, then make it 3 meals. Fortunately I have enough extra bodyfat to live through a nuclear winter and beer is...

Having just been through a soul sucking experience of being rejected as a public school teacher, I decided "what the hell." I'd drive four hours down on Friday to Timmonium Maryland to play some crap and shoot the shit with some Ameritrashers. The first to greet me at the door was Keith "gatekeeper" Levy. His first statement to me was "Great to see you! Make sure you pay!" I then bullshitted for a while, pleaded with Chili's to no avail to have a burger cooked less than "burnt", and eventually met up with Pete "King Put"...

Best Movies of 2008 My first article/blog entry for Fortress Ameritrash! Hopefully not my last either. Besides board games and video games (Xbox360, PSP), I also happen to be an avid movie-lover. I love going to see movies in the theatre and make a strong effort to go at least once a week. One of the great joys of seeing a great movie is recommending it after to people you know will love it and having them come back to either thank you profusely or throw hot coffee on your face. I've written...
