OK, a good friend of mine, Ken Dunn, has a game up for preorder called Kawaguchi's Gamble from MMP. It is about the biggest Japanese attack on Henderson Field at Guadalcanal in World War Two. It is an "Area-Impulse" game with a system derived Breakout:Normandy and several others. A tried and true game system about a rather major battle in World War Two. The designer is the same designer as the guy would made the wildly popular Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit - so he has pedigree to match. But the game is dying on prepub....

I know that it's already been done, but I think there's got to be a better game out there somewhere based on that fine piece of American Trash - Escape From New York. What got me thinking was reading a thread at some other gaming site where he was talking about a President's Helicopter going down and the group having to fight it's way out of some shithole. Someone mentioned Escape from New York meets Black Hawk Down. So why not just do Escape from New York. For the folks that haven't seen the movie, the premise is...

I talked before about my love of megagames. And now we're putting one on ourselves! As there are a few wargamers and Ameritrasher out here not from the US, I thought they might be interested to join in. Breakthrough 1940 is a map based game of the 1940 campaign in France and the Low Countries that will give room to about a hundred players and umpires. For the past two and a half years, most of my free time has been consumed by the development of a pulp hero adventure boardgame. The design has gone through three complete overhauls, which have been particularly arduous because the game is so card dependent (there are over 600), and each revision has necessitated a near-complete rewrite of all of the cards.
