    Corrections on this first draft:
    - I have no grand kids, just a pre-teen :o.
    - I have never turned over a gameboard in my life (this century or last).
    - I have more hair on the sides & back and a bit some more on the top.
    - I would never sit down to a game of Agricola >:(, unless I was senile so this must be in the far future.

  • avatar433

Gramps was the Space Marine on the cover of the GW Horus Heresy?

  • avatarMichael Barnes

I would never sit down to a game of Agricola , unless I was senile so this must be in the far future.

In the grim darkness of the future, there is only farming.

Also, "Who invades my nursing home at this early hour?"

This is Schweig's 'Gruffy McEldar, oldest squaddie in the space marines'.

  • avatarJonJacob

You might, if Eugene came over with a copy of Agricola.

  • avatarBlack Barney

grandpa looks a lot like grandpa Griffin from The Family Guy. I'm picturing him getting all mad with a thick Irish accent, it's fun.

    AMERITRASH BADGE REVOKED!

  • JJJJS

I hear "I have brought a game to play with my grandpa" in Mr. VanDresen's voice. Awesome.

    @433

For like three years Southernman's avatar was Space Marine on the cover of the GW Horus Heresy. Of course he goes and changes it a couple of weeks ago after the cartoon was already in the can.

    Space Crusade, not Horus Heresy.

It's totally the same guy on both boxes.

I love Gramps' pissed sour face. Great stuff again Simon.

  • avatarubarose

    Contrariness arrives with senility.

Simon was meant to give me some warning so I could change it back for a few weeks, these yungstas today have got no organisation. Changed :)

  • avatarSouthernman

Strangely - do you have spies Simon - I was invited to a game of Agricola this Friday, I politely declined and tried to organise a Tide of Iron session somewhere else ... perhaps I can't be trusted near an Agricola board ... perhaps I have played it before .... and can't remember :'(

Really? I didn't think MJL was that old.... ;D

  • avatarSouthernman

MJL only posts when he has enough energy to shuffle his zimmer-frame over to the communal computer in the resthome.

  • avatarSuperflyTNT

I just wonder if he's out fighting ancient Egyptian mummies with Jack Kennedy and Elvis in the nursing home...

  • avatarscissors

That guy on the cover of Horus heresy seems a lot uglier though or worn out.

  • avatarNotahandle

Black Space Marine armour isn't as flattering as white.

  • avatar433

    It is more slimming, though.

  • avatarmjl1783

It is the same guy on both boxes. He's just younger on the Horus Heresy box. He only looks uglier because that was before he got transferred to cushy Space Crusade duty to ride out his few remaining years before retirement. Everyone knows the space marines always win SC, so it stands to reason that he's put on a few pounds and looks like he's been pampering himself.

Retired at 28? You must think I work for the government or something.

  • avatarsisteray

    I love the 'Gric.

  • avatarNotahandle

That's your pet name for Southernman is it?

  • avatarSouthernman

My avatar is changing back but I'll leave a copy here for future hits ;D.

  • avatarNotahandle

    Epic fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • avatarSouthernman

Never mind, people will just have to look at the Space Crusade box.

  • avatarNotahandle

Or Horus Heresy . . . (and get confused).
