Sweet. I'll download it tonight and be listening to it tomorrow in between soccer matches. It better be good.

  • avatarjeb

HEY! I'm not as drunk as you drunk I drunk. ((shaaaaAAART))

  • avatarSagrilarus

Holy crap Stormseeker sounds very respectable.

Edit -- Scratch that. I just got to the Tom Jones stuff at the end.

Happy Day late birthday to Uba!

  • avatarubarose

    Thanks.

Lost all faith in Mark Walker after he said he liked Sucker Punch.

I wanted to stab my eyes out and hole punch my inner ear after watching that piece of shit. Please give me the 2 hrs back...

  • avatarstormseeker75

    Come play Der Spiecherstadt!

Thanks so much, Matt and Sag. I loved doing that interview. I'm quite pleased I don't sound completely daft.

  • avatardaveroswell

My contribution during that whole podcast: interrupting the Buonocore interview with my laughter at the whole ta-BLEW conversation.

I just saw Sucker Punch this week with my wife. Well, half of it; I walked out in the middle. What a stylistic piece of SPIECHERSTADT!

Zack Snyder produces complete and utter garbage. All of his movies are shit. I'm hopping that Sucker Punch is the catalyst to people realizing that even the ones that thought they like do indeed actually suck.

  • avatarMattLoter

OHHHHH... can we argue about Watchmen when we record tomorrow?

  • avatardaveroswell

Watchmen could have been reduced to three or four Rorshach short films and they would have been great.

And, oh yeah: Happy Belated Ubes! :)

  • avatarJosh Look

I don't think there's much to argue about. It just doesn't make for an interesting movie, as it's extremely tedious and by and large, poorly acted. The best part of the film is over once the opening credits are over. After that, the only thrills to be had are watching Rorshach, which even that was fucked up (when he kills, not handcuffs the child murder).

Snyder just didn't really get it. Moore's more shameful treatment of superheroes is much more compelling than Snyders, "Fuck yeah, superheroes! Now watch them do some cool shit!"

  • avatarMattLoter

I haven't seen it since opening night, so I don't really even remember, I just remember liking it and arguing about it on here. Apparently not enough to bother watching it again since... but still.

300 rocked. Can't say ALL his shit is bad...

  • avatargvegas

Another fun podcast! Great work guys! I particularly enjoyed the interviews with Steve and Stephen and, of course, my kids. It was awesome that you guys included them. They got a real kick out of it! I also appreciate you putting it at the end. That way the, uhhh, colorful expressions part was easily censored out for them, but left in for the rest of us that enjoy a good FU from time to time! I'm looking at you Speicherstadt! (or is that spicker-stat? I know Matt struggles with this one!) I'm looking forward to the next episode and seeing you guys at Con-Con.

I didn't realize that they were yours kids. Did I spell their names correctly?

300 sucks balls from a straw made out of a hollowed out dog turd. His stop-and-go action shit really dumb when you get down to it. You miss out on something visceral (and isn't that the point of an action movie?) when you do that, not to mention it's rather boring... Alright, I'm swing a weapon...Now we stop. I hit...Your face turns in agony towards the camera...We stop. Some blood floats around in midair...Stop. BULL. SHIT. He's probably like, "See? I'm making violence into art!" Fuck that douche a million times over. Die in a fire, Zack Snyder.

Totally spot on! Thanks! My daughter initially ran from the room when she heard her voice at the top of the show (as only a 10 year old drama queen in training can do), but I caught her listening to the interview later (methinks she doth protest too much). Carter loved listening to his sound effects for death when he described the whale tipping the boat, followed by sending in the sharks. It was hilarious but, of course, I'm biased. A great memory to add to our first family WBC!

Yeah! What he said! This movie sucked the big one long and hard. A festival of gratuitous violence that was ruined by these effects. Did you think I'd miss the gore if you didn't slow it down for me? I felt like I was watching the movie with someone who kept hitting the pause button while he ran to the bathroom because he had the shits. Really? You're stopping it again? A total waste of fuckin time.

  • avatarMichael Barnes

Second the "die in a fire Zack Snyder" sentiment. Maybe just his filmmaking career, he can live on maybe shining my shoes or something.

Snyder is every bit the schlockmeister hack that Uwe Boll is, it's just that Snyder has access to more money and there a couple of showrunners that have been tricked into thinking that he's a "visionary". Hope his Superman tanks and we can be rid of his garbage once and for all.

I do have to give him props for making the gayest Hollywood film in recent memory with 300. That took balls. Lots of them. In sweaty leather bikini briefs.

  • avatarHatchling

    Best line of the show:

"If I was wearing underwear I would throw them at you."
    -Loter to Stormseeker

    Too funny!

Stormseeker comes across really well. You should make him a regular correspondent or something.

Another great show. I think that author Launius was talking about is Harry Turtledove.

  • avatarstormseeker75

Thanks, Hatchling. I'd love to do more work with these guys.
