Finally!
I was starting to think I was the only one who thought "A Knight's Tale" was garbage.

okay, there are two of you :) Sure it was schlock but it didn't pretend to be more than a fun movie and featured a couple damn good actors who got much wider attenton as a result, Paul Bettany and the late Heath Ledger, of course. And James Purefoy (Marc Antony in HBO's Rome) is in it too altho a small role. I despise the music of Queen but it was fun and the Golden Years dance scene was great.

I agree. Great, great movie. Simply fun. Lot's of great characters and quotes in that film. I rated it one of my top ten movies of the 00s when we made those lists a few years ago.

You know, the movie wasn't all that bad. It wasn't good but it was fun to watch, if you're into crappy movies.

As an interesting side note, Midnight was an awesome D20 campaign setting. We ran a campaign of it for a while around here and had a lot of fun with it.

Re: Why FFG Games cost so bloody much

To me a bad movie is above all one that fails at the tasks the filmmakers set for themselves: you might have a script full of inconsistencies, lack of story arc, character development, or is lazy, lacks ideas, tension, etc etc. A Knights Tale succeeds as a light comedy with a fairy tale like message. The scriptwriter or director wasnt going for The Seventh Seal here.

With eight producers it probably didn't cost "FFG" $2M. In fact it might not have cost it anything.

Available on Netflix Instant by the way. It's been out for a couple of years apparently.

Been out a couple of years, not a soul here has heard of it, and it was direct-to-DVD/Netflix. Chances are someone took a bath on this.

Not a soul here has heard of it? What the fuck are you talking about? Thaadd joing FFG via this film (or she joined the company when they were making it, she was an orc in it.)
The budget was the same as that of a big boxed FFG game. Which I HIGHLY doubt is 2 million dollars.
Also I checked my shelf and - hello! - this movie I have never heard of lives there!
It was actually not too bad, it's biggest flaw is that it was more of a pilate to a TV series rather than a stand alone film which I think was a big mistake.

I'm watching it right now. I'll keep an eye out for Thaad.

Would it kill you to put the complete game in the first box?
