This is the first I've seen of this. So i'm not sure if someone has covered it, but Ogre 6th, designer, edition is on Kickstarter.

$100 for Ogre? Seems steep. Nostalgia makes me give it consideration but then nostalgia makes me think "screw Steve Jackson".

This is just about the only thing that would get me to "back" a vaporware project...but not today, I'll wait a while.

Well, I'll go against the anti-Kickstarter sentiment here to say that this might just be a brilliant idea by SJG. At $100 for just the game, I wasn't interested ... but at $100 for the game and a bunch of silly extras, I'm intrigued.

Put me down for a solid "maybe."

Cardboard Ogres look retarded (especially for $100). Doesn't seem to do anything the Kwanchai (sp?) doesn't do.

edit: Whoops sorry, didn't see the 4 color certificate from Stevie J. himself, I'm in.

This might be my first backing of a Kickstarter project. But...Alas, today is not the day for it. Maybe later this month.

Steve, I will allow you to "back" my used copy of Ogre/GEV 5th edition (VHS box version) complete with the Ogre Book. At the $100 level, you can have it and I will also supply you with 2D6 and some photocopies of the Ogre sheets.

With all the copies of Munchkin SJG sells they can't/aren't willing to front the money for this?

Fuck that. I haven't looked on TOS, but this is the sort of thing that will cause people to question the spirit of what Kickstarter was created for.

Wasteland, or Fallout Van Buren are the only things I'd "back" for 100$.

Unless I could get a 1 page advert in the rulebook. Then I'd totally back anything, and expense it out.

I'm undecided. I don't see 4 years worth of work in what's shown in the video. Jackson said he won't change the rules or game play so if a cosmetic upgrade is all that's left it better be one helluva good looking game.

Three questions:

1) What exactly are they working on with this new edition? This is the sixth go around, guys. The game is fucking done. It's fine. All you need to do is get the damn components decided upon and get it to print.

2) What the hell kind of supplements do you need Kickstarter involved to do? All the old game had for expansions were rules and countersheets. Don't tell me you don't have the dough to put out a few sets of unit counters and some pamphlets. Oh, wait, well, I guess there were some maps in the old expasions, which leads me to question three...

3) Why, when you mention all the cool extras you can do through Kickstarter, is the only example the G.E.V. map? Was this not going to be part of the original sixth edition? Were you seriously planning on putting out a $100, 15 lb., steamer trunk edition of basic OGRE?

If that's the case, all due respect, Mr. Jackson, but how out of your fucking mind are you?
