I've always felt that phrase is only used to make the amount sound like more than it actually is. A MILLION dollars is still a very long way away.flim_flam wrote: a quarter of a MILLION dollars
[Note: I'm not saying $250K isn't a lot, because it is.]
Hah, I am going to start referring to most of my possessions in fractions of millions of dollars. I have a thousandth of a million dollars on me right now, for instance.

I'd wager MMP and GMT are surprised as well.

I'd bet you're right on both counts.Sagrilarus wrote: I'm leaping to the conclusion that Jackson is ok with the mere quarter-mil. I'd bet he's very surprised at the level of response that he's getting.

Just the number of new stretch goals alone tells me that SJG must be pleasantly surprised by the response.

Summary:
1. No more weight can be added; it's done at 16 pounds;
2. They put their stretch goals too close together;
3. $300K goal involves SJG committing to some sort of Ogre project in late 2012/2013. A mobile version is even mentioned (very briefly).
4. Curiously, I see no mention of "integrity" anywhere. Strange.
So, yeah, SJG is thinking about Ogre. Gosh darn that mean ol' Kickstarter for helping that to happen.

Munchkin Ogre in 2013. Count on it.

(1) Would they be putting money aside for this, and if so, does Kickstarter rules allow that?
(2) Given how successful this project is, I would expect the future supplement to happen regardless of whether they make $300,000 or not.
(3) I would also expect it to be a Kickstarter project which would be successful, and therefore does not need funding from this project.
I strongly believe that a Kickstarter should be self-contained, without reference to something that might (or might not) happen in the future. This lessens my interest in supporting, as does the possibility that they might use fucking FedEx.
(It was also part of the reason I cancelled my pledge for Gunship.)

English shipping adds $92 to the price, total $192 = £118, add customs and it's probably £150 = $245. The pre-order PDF to give to retailers says Ogre has a value of $295. So the big question is, what would be the English retail price? (And can I find out in the next 12 days?)

But you're right about it most likely being a KS project anyway. I'm hoping to see both supplements that he's been kicking around. The minis would be nice, but I can proxy everything except the ogres with extremely high-grade stuff from C&C [my favorite casting company]

They didn't 'lose' it, Steve Jackson tore up the contract after Brian Fargo and the Fallout team refused to lower the amount of violence in Fallout.
How can Steve Jackson get high and mighty over Fallout when his company published Car Wars and its expansions?
