I played HeroScape just once, and it was okay. The four of us spent about 90 minutes building a really big map, about 90 minutes playing a 2-against-2 team capture the flag scenario. Then we spent another 30 minutes putting everything away.

Some of the figures seemed to be disproportionately powerful, and there just weren't enough modifiers to make the tactics interesting. One guy was playing some legionnaire types who get bonuses if they stay in a tight formation, which they did, so he cleaned house with them.

It was okay fun, and I loved playing with legos when I was a kid, so building the map was mildly fun. But otherwise, the ratio of setup/takedown time to actual fun is poor, and I would rather play many other games.

It's good that at least the one wave of marvel stuff is coming.

I'm not real happy about the hobby store exclusive plans though. Nor am I happy about killing the other big figure expansion (I know, it may come in a different form).

It'll be interesting to see how well they can control/fix the distribtion on the big retailer end of things though.

EPIC FAIL, then. We've had the linking thing going on for some time now. It's the Wave of the Future: Catch It! (tm)
