I have read that the brood lord option that you can spawn for a pull of a 3-chit is a bit overpowered, but I like the idea of a bit more variety with the aliens and would like to have a simple but well balanced variant that provides 1 or more options for each blip level, e.g. the basic genestealer is 1 blip, but a 2-blip chit can spawn 2 normal aliens, or 1 "level 2" alien, and likewise a 3-blip can spawn a level2 plus a vanilla alien, or a full level 3 brood lord type alien

Does anyone know of any, or does anyone who's played the game a lot have any quick ideas of how you could tweak up the power or abilities of the genestealers to be a level 2 and level 3 (and even beyond)

Just buy some of those "Garage Sale" stickers, the wee round ones, and print onto them whatever you come up with. I've done this a couple of times and if you get the label template from Avery or whomever made them, the registration's pretty spot on.

As for levels, the problem isn't so much the blip marking, although I would most certainly change the blip chit's face to indicate something special. The problem is keeping track of which models are which levels. I guess you could simply say "'stealer busting through floor and 'stealer hanging from L shaped, skull covered bulkhead are both level 2" or something.

Level 1: Only have 4 movement points, only roll 2 dice on attack. These are the shortbus Genestealers..the genes they stole were defective
Level 2: Standard
Level 3: Have 8 movement points, can only be killed on a natural 6.

the minis are no problem, I use AT-43 as I bought a Space Hulk set without the minis anyway. I just use 3 clearly different model types, it was more just having a handful of easy rules, just something like making them slightly harder to kill or getting a +1 on a die roll. Just something to throw together to play with my nephew really
