Recent trades

Is Star Trek: The Adventure Game the one that uses the paragraph system from Tales of the Arabian Nights? It is pretty good, but I'm not a Star Trek fan so I traded it away.

Yep that's the one. It looks awesome and it kind of gives me a Cold-War era feeling. Two superpowers peddling influence to 3rd parties so they can win an international, er interstellar pissing contest.

Busy week-and-a-half of Math Trades.

I just confirmed that I'm trading off Tash-Kalar for the Pathfinder board game with the Character add-on.

So much for my promise to not get on any more treadmills.

Attending a local math trade this weekend. Got a few nice things:

A few I'm looking forward to:

Gears of War - Looking forward to this one! (traded for Robinson Crusoe, wasn't feeling the theme sadly)

Modern Art and a few small games, Intrigue, Pax and another one (traded for Troyes)

Agricola - All creatures Big and Small + a interesting looking game Vampire Empire (traded for Men or Iron, just couldn't get it on the table)

Here I Stand (accidently traded for it, forgot to remove from trade list.. for 2010 version of Civilization) doubt I'll ever play it, but if I ever do, it will be epic!

Commands & Colors: Ancients (traded for Dominant Species, better off with 2 player games these days)

Lord of the Rings: FFG co-op + a few small games (traded for Jambo and few small games)

3 older Small Box games (Shadow of Sun, Stone & Relic, Valkyrie Incident) for Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear.

And Zooloretto and Kingdom builder for introducing people to board games. Pretty happy about the trade. Got rid of some games I'll never play. Although Here I Stand will be a huge challenge to ever play, let alone learn the rules

Well, I have made my first trade on BGG or at least my half of it.

Traded Strike of The Eagle by Academy games. A block war game about the failed invasion of Poland by Russia after WWI. I only played it once and it was interesting. No gripes really and it was made to play four in 2 teams. The board split in half for two theaters of operations. It stuck me that it would be more like 2 distinct games playing side by side rather than true teamwork because the rules didn't allow for much crossing of that dividing line.

Anyway that dust collector is out.

Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles is inbound...or should be. Been curious about it for a while and I've heard good things. Of course the dude said he'd ship it by yesterday at the latest and still no tracking info. Maybe he just hasn't had time or forgot to update the status. Oh well, I'll just have to be patient.

A gaming buddy of mine moved to ND for a new job, so he bequeathed his shelf toads to me for selling/trading for new games for our local game group.

Last month I traded Game of Thrones LCG core set for Core Worlds on BGG. The USPS put a quarter-sized puncture through the Core Worlds lid, so after getting a written estimate from my FLGS, they reimbursed me $35. Not bad for some cosmetic damage that I'll repair with glue or tape. I was expecting $10-$15 back so it was a nice surprise.

But I'm much more excited about my recent trade, where I traded the Call of Cthulhu LCG core set, Curse of the Jade Emperor Asylum Pack, Conspiracies of Chaos Asylum Pack, and Ancient Horrors Asylum Pack for Twilight Imperium 2nd Edition with the Hope's End expansion (no box for the expansion).

In: Buncha Heroscape stuff that looks great!

Also:

Out: Darkest Night + Inner Light Expansion + Nymph Promo Character
In: Dune (Avalon Hill Sandworm "Red Box") complete and in pretty decent shape.


Pretty excited about both of those. I haven't played Heroscape or Dune yet, but I'm familiar with and excited to get into both of 'em. Wasn't wild about Rex.
