I agree, Curses was awesome, looking forward to seeing Forces and glad they're continuing to support this game.

Two moderately sized expansions released in the same year? You don't see that happen too often.

I have mixed feelings about the FFG treatment of Wiz-War. I wish that they had simply republished the original game with better components, though using only tokens for the summoned creatures. And made it playable for up to six players. But FFG is running a business, so I can understand their decision to limit the base set and then release more material with expansions. But the decision to use minis for all the creatures doesn't make me happy, and it has really slowed the process of releasing the rest of the game.

As with Cosmic, we are getting the best version ever made of this great game. I DO have more nits with Wiz than Cosmic, but its nothing more than trivial.

So wait, does this have a sixth player? I imagine Wiz-War would be great with that many people.

It looks like it does not. I think it plays best fast and furious and not even sure I would ever want to play with 5, much less 6 (or even 8 as with the original).

I wish FFG, or even some retailer, would make it compelling to go all in at once with a discount on all 3 boxes, for example. I know you see that sometimes, but it seems pretty infrequent to me. I don't have my own copy of Wiz War yet.

Original Wiz-War didn't have 8, it topped out at 6.

Many people expanded their sets to allow more players, but I think that's a dark path. My homemade classic set could in theory play 8 (or maybe 9), but I don't think I'd ever do that.

I find a lot of the criticism that I have read against FFG's version of Wiz-War to be rather inflated. Some of it has been very legitimate, but a lot of mountains are made out of molehills. It must be fashionable.

Wiz-War was always a 4 player game. The expansions always added 2 players.
Well, until FFG got it and decided to s l o w l y release the 6th player...
Going very much against precedent for the game and charging quite a bit for the content in the process. :/ You know it will come, but at a very premium price, and likely next year.

The preview for Bestial Forces looks promising though. The Genie is going to cause fits of rage, of which I will likely be on the receiving end of, happily. If used against me, that bitch will be on "The List".

Totem magic is an interesting thematic choice. They are using some rather specific cultural iconography for that consistently. I am sure the northwestern indigenous peoples will be happy?!? *shrug*

I cant help but look at the pic of the models and choose some unflattering names. (from left to right)
