He's the illegitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Ned Stark's sister Lyanna.

That explains what happened to Brazil in the final four this year. They apparently didn't deserve to make it that far.

Germany was by far the best team in the tournament...they just struggled a bit to break Argentina down.
Watching Messi blow that last ditch free kick was almost painful.

The commentators mentioned it was "selfish" for Messi to take that shot. I would have thought even as a longshot, that would have been the thing to do.

Who did they suggest was going to take it? A free-kick like that is a low-percentage play in the best of circumstances. The entire German team was in the box, so there wasn't much chance of a surprise pass either. It was a glimmer of hope, and it burned out. That's all.
Had Argentina not blown it defensively to leave Goetze embarrassingly wide open, it wouldn't even have been necessary. That was so bad, they looked like Brazil for a moment, as both defenders peel away from him.

Yeah, I forgot to update my stuff after the semis.

I'm a little sad this tournament is over--for me it was the most enjoyable one (exception: the hideous Holland-Argentina semi) since France '98, and a much-needed breath of fresh air after the dismal, plodding 2010 World Cup.
Germany were worthy winners. Argentina had been exceptional defensively but not very eye-pleasing. I loved every second of the Brazilian implosion, and even though the usual suspects got to the semifinals, the contributions along the way by some of the less-heralded countries were notable.
Messi getting the Golden Ball was a complete joke--great player obviously, but his influence waned considerably after the group stage.
