This was on "normal" clearance for $20, I think, and I almost bought it the other day but didn't. Poo. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

Thanks for the heads up. I've heard very good things about this game, and $15 is too low to pass up.

I need to play this again, but my first time was utterly miserable. It was myself and another newbie, and two experienced players. Had no idea where to begin and one of the experienced players just hammered on me and the other newbie right out of the gate. By turn 3 (of 8, I think), I was literally out of the game and just sat there doing next to nothing for the rest of it (the other newbie got to play for one more round before he was completely wiped out). I guess this was fun for that guy, but it didn't make me want to play again.

Perhaps I need to add a corollary to Rule 0 -- Don't play with dicks.
In a game like Serenessima coaching is super easy, and the seasoned players at a minimum should have been coaching you against each other, and likely even against themselves. If they didn't do that you should have teed up one of their ships with a tightly sprung finger and released, adding a dexterity aspect to the play.
My last play of this was with kids, one very young one, who did very well because other players identified options and allowed him to choose his own path. He came in last, but he put in a good showing and could claim his decisions as his own. This game could reach down to age 8.
