The Austin BoardGameBash just finished in early August. I'm not going to BGGCon, but am not opposed to going up to Dallas for an occasion. A road trip like that likely won't happen tip after the Holidays though.

I lived in the same metro as VonTush for 8 years, and we got together all of three times. I lived 2.5 hours from Space Ghost and never did meet him.
Making this kind of thing happen is tough, but hopefully we can do it sooner than later.

Jeff is by far the prettiest.

Do we still want to make Trashfest Southwest happen? I can do some legwork and find out some open dates for the first part of 2015.

Difficult, but not impossible.
I think the most success would be to throw it in as part of BGG con or something. Some reason families are already going up there.
Personally, I'm cleared for at least one full, family free gaming weekend a year. Last year we included some time at the range, but previous years it was at the Austin Board Game Bash. For 2015 I could potentially forgo something local and maybe drive up.
That is, unless, Chapel and I finally get Camp Game off the ground...
