Eh, that's a bit over-the-top, I suppose, but does convey some of the feel and potential that the game has.

I really didn't like this game, but I'll admit it's not my kind of thing. The whole secret team-mates genre bores me to tears. That said, you can buy an airship in it and cruise from site to site at no cost, and that intrigued me enough to stay with the game.

I would have like a marker to indicate I was in a blimp. That would have improved the experience for me.

Clearly some role-playing is necessary. Puff your cheeks, hold your arms away from your body, and talk with a high squeaky voice.

I decided to buy it. It's a strange fucking game. Don't know if it's good, but it sure is odd---especially for such a *short* game.

I just caved and put in an order. CSI had a copy on Amazon for $75 because there's a crease on the cover or something, and shipping was $4. I figure I can live with that, and I'll probably be able to flip it later if I decide it's not for me. I love the theme and the mechanics sound suitably bonkers. I'll always be going for the blimp though.

I don't want to disappoint you, but I haven't seen the blimp come into play in three games now. There are a fair number of cards that go in the box during setup, and others that are under the stacks from which you gain cards, so they might not come out in any particular game. But for me that adds a lot to the chrome factor.

This is true, but also adds to the replayability factor IMO. I got the blimp in one game and it was pretty cool, esp with a double bomb assassin you can swoop in and whack someone who thinks they are safe.

I was not wild on the theme when I first heard about it, but once I played it I really grew to like it.

I'm the perfect audience for this kind of game, but two things keep me from ever buying it: Martin Wallace and Cubes/Cards.

Cthulhu gaming is about killing and breaking shit. It's about madness and horrors unthinkable. It's not about pushing cubes and chits, and area control.

Ah, but Pete, there is madness and horrors in the game, and killing and breaking shit. If you can't see through the means of portraying that (in this case, cubes and chits), then you're missing the real picture.
