Maybe Space Ghost hasn't had that epiphany yet where you're like "wait...you know, I actually don't HAVE to have the other figures..."

Looking through the Dark Angel one it looks like the missions have one standard squad and another with different weapons. The way I would proxy would be: Deathwing champion w/halbred=Lightning claw/Thunderhammer, Plasma cannon=Heavy flamer, Apothecarian=Librarian, and for the banner bearer put a banner on a terminator with bolter and powerfist.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is that it looks like the iBooks have a digital mission status display.

Modeling is something I've always had fun with though I've been done with miniature gaming for years now. And these new board/miniature game hybrids all come pre-assembled or with very limited options so they aren't cutting it. Dreadfleet was fun to assemble but pretty rigid...So to be honest I'm looking forward to picking up some of the newer GW minis and go to town on assembling them.

My previous plan of getting old metals has been scrapped. My new plan is to get some of the current models and magnetize the arms and torsos because the iBook files have the ability to make custom squads/missions so to make the extra models as versatile being able to swap them out would be great. I need to verify if the shoulderpad bits you can order off the GW site will fit the terminators though.

A variant I've heard is to see who runs the marines both players build a squad in secret and then reveal, whoever's squad is worth the most points plays the genestealers, so that's a pretty awesome way to determine who plays who. And again, variable marines would be good there.

And yes...It is possible to say X=Y, just like how I could cut up a cereal box and scrawl "Plasma Cannon" on it, but Meh...I'd rather do some modeling.

Hi VonTush, in the last two months I actually assembled a Space Marine Sternguard Squad, a Drop Pod, and a Rhino, just for the fun of assembling and painting.

I'll admit the painting part for me is a bit of a bore, but I find the filing, trimming, cutting, positioning and gluing of a model relaxing. What I need to do is get a work-station setup though, that way I can just sit down with everything setup and out rather than pull all my painting stuff out every time which is a bit of a headache, and enough of a hurdle to stop someone not very motivated to paint dead in their tracks.

I asked for a copy for my birthday, and if I get one, no way in hell am I painting it. I started painting my 3rd edition and what I did came out great, but I do not have the patience for the level of detail on these things.

Just to clear any possible confusion, those ibooks are NOT the 4 extra missions included in this new edition. They're complete campaigns updated from old WD issues for the 1rst/2nd ed of the game in the 90s.

The big problem though is that those shniy new terminators come on large 40 mm bases, not too useful in the cramped quarters of SH.

The iBook mention the bases overlapping or if you are using the terminators for SH only creating custom bases.

how would I create a custom base? That sounds like it is getting into more effort than it is worth.
