Back to Nate - I love Sugar! Listen to those and then listen to the first Foo Fighters album. Dave Grohl admits to loving Bob Mould, but hell, that first FF album could almost be Sugar outtakes.

Absolutely love that song and video. Midnight Mover was played on late-night TV every week in the 80s. (Not sure which channel. VH1?) The first use of "Matrix" technology, for sure.

Plus, Accept is the only band fronted by half a viking. Udo may be even shorter than Dio (RIP), which is mind blowing.

This video single-handedly turned me and my buddy into raging metalheads when we were about 13. It was just like that: we were minding our own 13-year-old businesses, not particularly interested in music aside the usual "Top 10 of the Week" crap, then, on one particular Sunday I saw this video, and the very next Monday all we could talk about was this.

I went on buying Accept's Hungry Years compilation album on cassette (plus another one that had both Helloween's Helloween EP and the Judas Maxi (Judas + Ride The Sky live), a fucking great purchase as well, I still think that Helloween was better off with Kai Hansen on vocals, and the much "harder" sound than their later, critically acclaimed stuff). I was at first disappointed to see that Hungry Years didn't have Midnight Mover, but that only lasted until I heard the first track, Fast As A Shark. This is the finest proto-Speed Metal song, and also one of the best metal songs ever, period.

Luna - Not my bag. Maybe if I was stoned. But I'm not stoned right now so no.

Working on Morissey - Vauxhall and I. So far, so good.

So I really like Vauxhall and I. Should I listen to any other Morissey stuff? Maybe go right to The Smiths?

Billy Bragg is up next in the queue.

Please don't feel slighted if I haven't got to your picks yet. This is a work in progress.

Are you fucking kidding me! Of course go to the Smiths! I can't even suggest anything specific cause all the records are amazing. I guess The Queen is Dead would be the wildly accepted best, but they all rule and all have amazing tracks.

He's on Spotify, so he would do well to start with The Smiths Complete. All 106 tracks of it.

Some folks think of them as a singles band, some as an album band. I am in the former camp.

But yeah, WTF, listen to The Smiths. They're up for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, along with Lou Reed (shoe in), Kraftwerk, Joan Jett, NWA (!) and some other good stuff.

Just listened to the new Butcher Babies EP which is pretty cool.

Billy Bragg is on now. I see why Thirsty likes this. I dig it. Needs more listens.

Some band called Ex Hex is up next. Then I'll try some Smiths.

Good Lord, I'm glad I'm at a point in my life where I don't care about being cool. Because my musical tastes are not cool, but they are certainly unique.
