there's been kickstarters that have offered refunds when they go waaay past expected dates. with varying levels of success and honesty.
I've heard of people being able to go through their credit cards and cancelling that way...I would think there would be a time limitation on this. Generally with the kickstarter spiel of 'donating to a project, get a gift' there's not really a set method to cancel. its assumed you won't and cancelling is the exception.
I kickstarted Fallen and that game was 1 year late. Catacombs is looking like it'll be 9-10 months late. It's a little frustrating but if it turns out as good as Fallen it'll be worth the wait.
It's dumb but I'm not pissed. The publisher has been quite consistent in keeping the backers updated. I'm still waiting on this and twilight struggle collector's edition.
I was never really interested in Catacombs. The board was always super cramped for me (since I am use to a full Indian carrom board), and after I made an Ascending Empires board, I saw no reason to expand into a forth carrom based game (Pitchcar being the third). But this new version looks awesome. I really wish I had seen the kickstarter, but that $150 level wont be too much more on the second hand market. Looks like Ill be firing up the tablesaw again in the near future to make a proper table rest for the board. I am thinking 1/2 drop to a 3inch channel all around the board, with felt on the bottom.

Bad business is bad business, whether the game is good or not. Don't give these people an excuse.
Catacombs is one of my all time favorite games, but there was just no fucking way I was forking over 150$. I'll gladly buy this at a lowered price at an OLGS, and we all know that they'll be available at about the same time that backers start getting their copies.
The only game that I backed on KS that I expect to be on schedule is SPACE CADETS AWAY MISSIONS, and that's just because Buonocore is a shameless ballbuster- and that's a very good thing if you're in the boardgame publishing business.
