Good BYE to Leonard Nimoy, who passed away at 83 today.

Really bummed. His last "public words" were:
"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP"

Wait, did he actually say "LLAP" like YOLO? That would break me.

He was at Dragon Con a couple of years ago. I don't usually care anything about the "celebrities" there or celebrities in general, really. But I walked by where he and Shatner were signing and I have to say that seeing those two actors together, not ten feet from me, took my breath away. It isn't often that we have figures like that who are just monuments in a medium. I mean, it was Kirk and Spock RIGHT THERE. That is literally as iconic as it gets in television.

LLAP indeed.

I keep seeing these Facebook memorials and they always reference Spock.

Not sure if he should be most remembered as Spock, The Great Paris, or the inventor of The Shocker.

I think he should be remembered as the singer of the Ballad of Bilbo Baggins

Leonard Nimoy played a really cool guy on a famous tv show, but he was also a great person:

Like Barnes I also saw Mr. Nimoy at DragonCon....It was a pleasure to be in the same room with him. I am a big fan of the original series, my favorite Spock performance was "Amok Time"....I enjoyed any moment where Spock broke character and smiled or showed emotion.

I loved the way that he put himself out there, in every form of artistic expression. A lot of it wasn't good, but the fact he kept creating is awesome.

Also, underappreciate career gem: Civilization 4 technology narration:
