Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
New Warhammer 40K game from FFG
It seems like it uses a variant of the order system from Starcraft which is great. And other parts of it - the number of sectors on a tile for instance - also look Starcraft-ish, so it'll be exciting to see how close to one of the best board games ever this is.

How many of you people are going to shrug and say "welp, it's 40k, gotta have it!"
I saw that it appears to be a redevelopment of StarCraft and was ready to give it the nod and make room in the budget for it. But what I am looking at is a $60 game (RETAIL), not a hundred fucking dollar one. StarCraft supported TWO MORE PLAYERS and apparently had four times as many components in the box and it retailed at $80. Shit, Horus Heresy looks to have twice what this game has in terms of materials including those silly ashtrays it came with.
Even at a street price of $75, there is no way this game of this scope in terms of material product should have a market value that high. If the GW license incurs that much upcharge, then ditch it and do it as a Twilight Imperium title. Or a damn Terrinoth one.
But here again, you have these idiots telling publishers like FFG that they're willing to pay $100, $200, $300 for board games by backing a bunch of Kickstarter shit, so you reap what you sow, etc.

The price... well it doesn't seem surprising to me at all. Imperial Assault is the same price, many kickstarter games are about the same... it's not strange at all, it's par for the course.
Besides, money grows on trees man, I'm not gonna worry about it. If I find that I have the time to play it by then... I'll get it.

Hex Sinister wrote: A revised and streamlined Starcraft with a fourth faction sounds much more reasonable than a $200 Starcraft off eBay. Sounds pretty dope to me.
Dunno if I'll get it, but this was my reaction. Sounds good. If it's a solid game maybe I should sell my copy of starcraft and expansion for serious money.
100 is steep, so the quality has to be there.

I'd much rather pay $100 for a game that's a re-working of a game that's really good and wicked out of print than pay $100 for a game that's a rethemed version of a game that was re-released a year or so ago. And shit, you know if Starcraft was a kickstarter game right now, it'd be a 4-player game with the 6 player expansion available as an addon, and require a $175 pledge to get all the units via stretch goals.

As far as the price goes...It just gives me an incentive to sell some stuff to build up the funds to buy. Darn...
EDIT: Also, pretty awesome that they went specific with World Eaters, Craftworld Iyanden, Ultramarines and Evil Sunz. Even without bridging into other races there's still three chaos gods to address, other Craftworlds Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, then the other Orc Clans. I'd love to be able to play this with all four chaos gods in a giant chaotic chaos maelstrom.
