Looks like elements of Star Wars :The Queen's Gambit have been reworked for this game

What are the elements from queens gambit that is being reused?

Ive only played a friends copy a couple times, so I am not familiar enough to see where that fits in with this risk variant.

On a sobering 2nd thought: gameplay is suppose to take 25 - 40 minutes?!
I don't know what I'm looking at here...

I've mentioned it before on F:AT, and I'll do it again now - Star Wars Risk: The Original Trilogy is one the best Risk games. It may be second only to Risk: Legacy. It's perfect for three players.

Not buying this, but curious what the different editions will look like.

Star Wars Risk from Hasbro will launch this fall for $29.99 for the standard edition and $49.99 for the special Black Series edition.

Risk means more to me than any other game ever. I grew up with it and it's grown up with me. It's like D&D to me at this point... I don't know where those games end and I begin. I'll buy this for sure. Great price point too... even the fancy schmancy version is totally affordable.

But it's certainly obvious why Imperial Assault is packaged the way it is now. It looks like FFG does not have a licence to print SW boardgames... only mini/cards and RPG games. So that means that someone over there is willing to argue that IA is not a boardgame. Easy argument to make, freakishly difficult to actually believe. But it does explain their sale system too, it has to look like a mini's system on the shelves.

This looks like it could be awesome and it certainly seems mildly influenced by Queen's Gambit but it doesn't seem as though it won't feel anything like it. The Gungan battlefield, the three story palace, and the Jedi fight all have distinct qualities that make up their identity.

I guess my point is that if you're at all interested in Queen's Gambit I don't think this will just take its place.

Looks excellent though.

Good advice! I remember being in Toys R Us, with Copies of Epic Duels on the shelf marked down to $10 each, I walked by saying I didn't need another copy!

Of course, as it's the only "painted" one.

FUCK. YES.
Now all they need to do is reprint Queen's Gambit and the force will be again in balance.

Owning the Black Edition will increase your chances to be detained by police by several orders of magnitude.
