Star Wars Risk was created by Josh Look
Looks like that new Star Wars Risk that said to be similar to Queen's Gambit is dropping next Friday (9/4/15). It's featured in Hasbro's "Force Friday" catalog. I'm not sure if this catalog is given to retailers or it to be given out at the midnight release events, but there it is.

Here's the link to the full catalog:

(I guess I should warn folks that are trying to avoid spoilers? It doesn't really show anything we haven't seen though)

Loopin' Chewie is still MIA.

I noticed Loopin' Chewie's absence too. That kind of bums me out. Thanks for the H/U on Risk though, I kind of want to get it.

Do you mean that it's like Original Trilogy Risk? Not that it matters, I'm buying it either way.

Totally new game, and if the rumors are to be believed, not really a Risk game. They might be using the name for brand recognition (as if SW wasn't enough).

It, like Queen's Gambit, depicts three battles going on all at once, in this case it's the end of ROTJ. You have the battle of Endor, the strike on the Death Star II, and the saber battle between Luke, Vader, and Palpatine.

Only strange thing we've heard so far is 30 minute play time. I could stand for a half hour shaved off of Queen's Gambit myself, but I hope this isn't TOO short.

BTW, Loopin' Chewie is apparently already out in some areas. Certainly not mine. Might be that stores have it in hand and are holding it thinking they have to wait until 9/4 to put it out.

Tons of reports of stores jumping the gun. You'll have to take a look around. My Target has completely stripped their Star Wars section.

I think Target is gearing up to have a full Star Wars "store"...there's so much new product about to hit...

I went to the midnight thing back in 1999...I was actually interviewed by the local news because I was first in line. I spent like $300 on Phantom Menace stuff. It was kind of nuts, people fighting over Darth Maul 12" figures.

I spoke with a contact at Hasbro - looks like the "Black" version may only be at B&N type stores (same place that Onyx Risk was). The difference is primarily in the components.

Also, Loopin' Chewie has a Y configuration, it's 3 player only. Cost cuttng becuase they had to pay royalties to Disney, so cost had to come off to keep the price point the same.

Release date also Sept 4th for the Black edition?

No Target or B&N in the UK (or Europe) so you'll have to play it excessively on behalf of us lesser beings.

I didn't ask, but he didn't indicate otherwise.
