Wings of War.
I have been flirting with the game for a long time, but Sags recent amazing haul of ships has me thinking about it again. In my gaming group, it is hard enough getting people to play Xwing, let alone WW1. But the desire to fly a wing of Sopwith Camels is so strong. Maybe just a couple duel packs.

I have to admit, Sag's enthusiasm for the game has really brought it more into my consciousness. For me, it was down to Wings of War (WW1) and Axis and Allies: Angels 10, which looked contrived to me.

Now that I know that Wings of War has branched out into Spitfires and 109's in the WW2 European theater, I'm far more inclined to try it out.

I am always up for a good WW2 air combat game, the Supermarine Spitfire is my favorite plane of all time (I got to taxi one a few years ago and it took everything in me not to try to fly away with it), but I think that is best left to simulators for me. Biplanes and Bombers should be a winning combination and the Wings of Glory WW1 set on Miniatures market is sub $50. Dagnabit Sag.

Taxiing a Spitfire is a relatively dangerous thing to do, too much engine and too narrow landing gear. Ground loops were very common in Spits.

Definitely try before you buy, and play at least four players to really get a feel for it. I love team gaming, so it's a perfect fit for me. I really enjoy it, but it's awfully easy to drop a C-note on it.

WoG is the best party game. I'm actually heading up to the shop tomorrow with my nephew to meet up with another half dozen or so, most all new players, to play.

Sag - If you do end up looking to sell those bombers please let me know. I'm interested in the Green Caproni and Gotha.

Humorlessly enough, after starting this thread about not purchasing Blood Rage and Star Wars Risk... I have now obtained both. At least it saved me some money for about a month.

There was a hardware throttle lock to mitigate issues (it was a flap of metal flipped into place), but I still took it super slow just to be safe. All my pilot buddies laughed at me since I taxied it at a snails pace.

Nemo's War 2nd Edition.

I'm kind of bummed about it. I've been looking forward to this a while and I really dig the new artwork. It's on Kickstarter right now for $56, and the laser-cut tokens are a $25 add-on. Nemo's War to me will never be a $56 game, and sure as hell isn't an $81 game.

So I'll wait for it to hopefully land in a VPG sale or something.

Runebound 3rd ed. I was thinking of buying it... buuut went back to the reasons I bought Talisman. Downtime is still bad.

Thinking of getting the new Through the Ages... but no one to play with. And If I had this I would have wanted to play it repeatedly.

Armada. So bad Armada. Just too expensive and I don't have an enthusiastic partner who would get into fleet building...

I'm curious about this. Is this more in the vicinity of $30-40 in terms of a solo game?

Any. Maybe ever.

I'm tired of trying to keep up. I'm tired of derivative crap.

Are laser cut tokens really that much better than die cut?

They're really nice. Especially if they're flipsies, because they have no preferred side.

Yeah I am really on the fence here. I had the first edition ages ago which was great and all the changes they've made are only for the better...but the price with the laser-cut tokens is insane.
