Yeah I guess I spazzed out and forgot about the megathread, but I don't think anyone will really mind.
Looks to me like a Star Wars themed, slightly simpler (?) War of the Ring, and I don't know how anyone could possibly be against that.

I believe there is a passage in Mein Kampf where Hitler speaks out against Star Wars: Rebellion.

Eh, I don't know about that. Given the street price on the basic version is about $25, while this new game will probably be three times that.

If MSRP is $100 on this, street price ( aka Cool Stuff, etc ) will be 25-30% less than that.

Theme, conflict type, and playtime does not make games obsolete. Actual mechanics do.

So, kind of like Twilight Imperium 3 but with more than a dash of Runewars' alternating scales (armies, heroes)?

I'm amused that we were just debating the $100 MSRP and then this thing drops out of thin air onto the table.
Looks very interesting. I'd hope for more of a Twilight Strugglish sort of action, but I sure ain't holding my breath.
They kind of did a crappy job finishing the board. The territories go right off the board's edge without any lines to close them off. Sloppy.

My first thought was that this is War of the Ring for Star Wars, which is a dream game for me and a lot of other people. This is exactly the kind of thing I hoped FFG would put out when they got the license.
So did FFG get the rights to make straight board games? Last I knew that was off-limits for them.
I think I know what a piece of my tax return is going toward.

More Star Wars!! What a shock!
I kind of preferred when FFG would release games in their own shitty universe instead of just pumping out SW games at a frantic pace. Even though I love some of those games. But honestly 3-4 hrs is just too much for me right now? There's too many games I love that take that long not getting the play time they need. Plus another 100$. Not interested. Too much time and money I just don't have.
The game looks all right otherwise, board is pretty uninspired but the mini's look cool.
