Hide the Salami. But maybe that's what Barney was talking about.

We just played Thanksgiving bingo with pieces from the 3M bookshelf version of GO for markers.

I lost.

Played a couple of games of Dixit, and a couple of games of Cards Against Humanity. Works out pretty well during the turkey coma.

My mom-in-law and my wife both like Euros. I decided to try and teach Castles of Burgundy, which I haven't played and have only read the rules for once a few days ago. That didn't go so great. My rules explanation was bad, and I screwed up the rules in at least a few big ways. Nothing game breaking, but annoying. It's one of those rule books that totally makes sense if you know how to play, but is a pain to learn out of cold. Also, it took a long-ass time to finish. I'll play it again, but it's safe to say this will be the only Feld game I ever own.

Wow. I thought it was a great game. Played it once, but with experienced explainer.

We played both games that came from our Secret Santa.

Evolution: fantastic game. It's a design that could have easily gone wrong with too may traits and too much usage of take-that and counters. Those concepts meld very well with the theme, but I'm glad they edited the implementation down to a few easy-to-remember pairs and balanced it out with the group dynamics of food competition. I've only played it a couple of times but I'm fairly sure it's brilliant. Picked up the Flight expansion in a math trade.

Pandemic: Legacy. Yep, we still suck at this game and my son still starts to quarterback until we rein him in. We lost the first game, mostly due to luck, but also due to some myopia in the context of this bad luck. When outbreaks are getting out of hand, it's probably time to switch gears and stop trying to coordinate knowledge shares as much as just putting out the fire. The QB in this case was fully entitled to thwack us in the back of the head, but he was gracious enough.

I played some Titanfall for a bit whilst the turkey was cooking and everyone was tableting. After 20 minutes of that I declared it absurd, took their tablets, and threw in Genesis Classics, and we played Golden Axe 1 and 3, Columns, and this burglar game.

Then we watched Night at the Museum after dinner, and once the little dude went to bed, we watched some Cupcake Wars, and then once my queen went to bed, I threw on some Person of Interest.

Going to finish the night by continuing my Metro 2033 adventure.

Codenames was a big hit. It's so simple to teach. Easy for 3 generations of family to play together. We ended up playing 3 games of it between eating Turkey and eating dessert.
