Okay, so some buddies are playing 4 man TI3 and one of them happens to be the Winnu. He managed to convince the rest of the players to pass "IMPERIAL PEACE" as a law which means that no one can invade Mecatol Rex for the rest of the game.

The question: can the Winnu player use their racial tech, Lazax Gate Folding, to place one free ground force on Mecatol Rex, which is still neutral, and gain control of the planet? Is this considered an Invasion?

From the last FAQ:
Q: If Winnu use Lazax Gate Folding to place 1 Ground Force
on Mecatol Rex when it is uncontrolled, does the player gain
control of the planet? What happens to the Custodians?
A: Yes. In addition, Custodians are discarded.

I would say you are good to go and its not an invasion.

Edit: Quick Search finds more info - same result though Winnu good to go: boardgamegeek.com/thread/1443733/winu-ra...h-lazax-gate-folding

This just (sadly) reminds me that I still need to find one more player (only three of us interested so far) so I can finally get this out after years owning.

I think TI3 works fine with 3.

I'd argue you need 2 more players, because the Strategy card selection is a lot more interesting when bonus counters pile up and there can be consecutive rounds without a Trade or Tech. That being said its certainly playable with 3 or 4, just not preferable.

OK, thanks for the comments on three player. I had just read poor opinions of the game with three and my couple of times playing it was with higher player numbers where it felt good. Perhaps I'll run a 3-player to introduce the other two to it and refresh myself.

Would absolutely run with 3 as long as you adjust expectations. It's still epic, but you just don't get the same depth as you do with 5-6. That said, ANY TI3 is better than NO TI3 ;)

Maybe it helped that my two fellow players were not particular grudge holders so we were pretty freely shifting alliances throughout as opportunities evolved. It diminished the trading aspect with agreements written on tissue paper, but still a great experience and very good for solidifying us on rules as we have only played about 10 times over the last 7 years or so. #needtoplaymoreTI3now
