All that sweet, sweet John Blanche art...

Are they a BGG contact? Can they wait til a brother gets paid? PM the contact details and I'll take it from there.

All the art and designed the ships. At this point it feels like a final hurrah for the old world prior to the AoS.

You know I'm surprised you aren't interested in the 40k universe, so much is fueled by the awesome Blanche art.

Mr. White wrote: Can anyone remind me what the different race/ships are? And this is sort of like Wings of War or something where you can play this with a group and each sailing one or two ships, correct?

Also, what issues of WD had Dreadfleet content? Was it rules/scenarios or just 'how to paint' and such?

damn you, Barnes! With BB, DB, and HS I'm supposed to be good with minis games. Now I'm looking at DF and DF...Dreadfleet...and Dark Future...again.

The good guys have two human ships - one a big Imperial war ship and one a pirate ship. Then there's a dwarf ship, a high elf ship and a ship powered by elementals. There's a whole bunch of mini 'ships' too, including a dirigible for the Dwarves and a dragon for the elves.

The bad guys had a tomb kings barge, a skaven ship (which was actually the hollowed out corpse of a giant sea creature), a ghost ship, a mechanical kraken-like submarine and an undead ship.

All great models although if I remember right some of them were a pain to put together! You could play it like Wings of War with one person controlling a ship each. It works quite well as the ships tend to be quite durable.

I loved the terrain in Dreadfleet nearly as much as the ships.

If think the White Dwarf issue just had background and painting tips. I think it was issue 381/382?

It was 381, and it didn't have any game content that I recall. I still have my in-shrink copy of Dreadfleet and WD381. I got it wishing it was an update of Man 'O War, which is a game I played in high school and had a blast with. Post purchase, I read that it wasn't really the same, so I haven't even opened it.

How long do games usually last? Reviews make it sound like the game goes on forever, but maybe they just didn't like the game so it felt long.

Surely, someone has decoded the value of the ships to create a point system. Otherwise, I guess one could just 'Age of Sigmar' the game and select ships...balanced or not...going for the narrative. Just looking for a way to play beyond the built in scenarios.
