GF9 is pretty opaque when it comes to new release info; I’ll believe it when I see it in stock somew.

I’m still shocked that they nailed the Dune release.

Rulebooks are online for the new races and the expansions are "on the boat" with preorders from GF9 shipping soon.

Wow, the Vulcans are *wildly* different! They're swinging for it with these in terms of uniqueness.

Yes. I remember a year ago when the prototypes showed up at Gen Con. Someone played a couple games and got some pics of both races' cards, etc. The Vulcans were (and still are) the far more interesting race, in that respect, because of the Ambassador rule and their unique restrictions around acquiring new systems. Very cool. They definitely ran with the approach of the Ferengi in this design; combat-capable, but much more accustomed to winning by being kinda allies.

I'm a little less enthused about the Andorians, both because, to me, they've never been anything other than the "blue antenna dudes" from one episode of the original series and various snippets in other films/series (I never watched Enterprise) and because they're much more straightforward in their application to the game. Kinda like the Romulans. Hopefully, there are more aspects to their advancements that can turn them in more interesting directions.

It appears that there is no one really coherent at the helm, designwise, at GF9. The Vulcan expansion appears to be a rules shambles, which is a shame since it is so radically ambitious.

Some of the answers people at BGG have been getting are breathtaking in how against the spirit of the material they are.

They lost their A team.
They basically indicated that they are done with STA.
The age of awesome GF9 board games is over.

We are seeing some great new terrain from them for miniatures games, though.

Yeah, I still think the game with just the base and Cardassians and Ferengis is pretty full featured, so hard to be too upset.

So why did all their board designers bail? ( not counting who passed away?)

Yeah, I dunno. Their new spot making just a mainstream game and terrain is weird to me.

I don't see any traffic on the BGG page about rules issues with the Vulcans. Where are you seeing this?

My problem has been actual delivery of the Andorians. I ordered both expansions through Amazon as soon as they were available. The Vulcans arrived without issue three weeks ago. The first Andorian order was "lost", which means cancelled by the vendor (GF9.) The second attempt got me a German D&D product from a vendor called PBStore, which I'm now returning. Amazon says there was a "problem" with the Andorian expansion and it will be available on 10/26. Here's hoping.

Some kind of nutty shit in here---GF9 rep says that Vulcans can win through 5 ascendancy like normal factions even though one of their agendas is... get 8 ascendancy? Then another rep says you can't?

Most of the collected page 1 errata is on Vulcans. Though, to be fair, some of that is normal gamer stuff that I would never think to misinterpret.
