I'm all about the miniatures. Not sure about the RPG but there's been a need for 28mm Starfleet miniatures for a long, long time (since the FASA days, @ 25mm scale, and they kind of sucked ass). The only ones I know of other than these new ones are the Clix from Expeditions and the 15mm ones from Astro ( astrominiatures.blogspot.com/ ) which rocked but were 15mm, which made them hard to use with other ranges and systems without significant investment.

This would be the hugest sell for my wife to RPG and I've kind of been dying to RPG again but have a very limited potential group. It certainly sells itself as a story a session type game! I may actually go out and buy this if someone here reports that the system is decent. What's the 2d20 system like that they're going to be using, has anyone used it? I'm not really dying for a super crunch system, tbh.

I'm the other way around. Super stoked for a new Trek RPG, especially one that seems to be sticking to TOS era stuff. I have about 7 other games that does capital ship combat just fine.

ACTA: Star Fleet is still the best true miniatures space fleet game using the ST setting.
