Let's Talk About Horus Heresy: Burning of Prospero
Michael Barnes wrote: I really don't know how they manage to skirt GW's policies...maybe having that jank ass web site throws them off or something. I offered them ad space here but they didn't want it, so I think they just fly under the radar somehow. There's just no beating them on price, especially with that free shipping. The only thing is that you have to wait a week to get it.
Maybe we should stop bringing them up so often in threads. Perhaps we need a good codename...
"The Plundered Vault"

EDIT: If it's the one on vendio, then nevermind, I've found the Forbidden Vault. It's 30% cheaper than local price, even after shipment.

probably:
this + painting guide = my christmas
The only reason I didn't get Calth is because of the prospect of painting the same marines like 50 times, there seems to be much more variety here.
And I like the Civil War-like Horus Heresy as a setting.

It's similar variety as Calth. Both have 30 tactical marines, 2 characters and five terminators. The difference is one has a dreadnought and the other has Custodes and Sisters.
I think using Wolves and Sons helps differentiate the sides a bit more.

Naturally, the Silent Sisters don't talk, otherwise it wouldn't be GW. I can already imagine myself pitching this to my wife ("they don't talk, but that's a good thing...")
I also realize this is not the same system as Calth, and the psychic phase is likely to make it more complex/slow.
But then Barnes will pick it up and write about it, and I will feel compelled to buy it.

Pictor's Studio posted "I'll be running some Burning of Prospero demo games at Phantom of the Attic on October 30th from noon to 5 p.m.
The game is released on Saturday, if you're interested in trying it out before you buy it come down and you can play through some of it.
Everything you need to play will be provided. We will have fully painted forces for both sides and you can either play on the board provided with the game or on a custom built terrain layout with slightly modified rules.
Hope to see you there. If you have any questions you can contact Phantom at their website:
pota-oakland.com/games
The address is:
406 S Craig St #2, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
Also note that parking in Oakland is free on Sunday so if you want to spend the whole afternoon killing Space Wolves/Thousand Sons, you won't have to worry about feeding the meter (which can be pretty hungry down there.)"
