So, I finally got to play the TMNT minis game...I think it's really solid and fun. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the turtles were very similar Looking. They really need to be painted to Look different, even if it's just the masks.

I might even have bought it, since the gameplay is pretty slick and the overall Look of the game is very cool, despite lacking paint.

The boards leave something to be desired because they don't really define elevated areas well enough, but it's something I can see past.

Thoughts?

This looks great! Especially the short to the point scenarios! Like I said in the other thread, might pay a premium to get the works Kickstarter... how much was it originally?

140/150, but I dont think there was too much in the works that won't eventually be out in retail.

Re: Painted Turtles

We played again yesterday, but I had everyone play with the standard, modern sculpts of the TMNT and they did not have the same problem telling everyone apart. The poses are much more varied and dynamic.

We played on a smaller table too, so identifying rooftops was easier. There is a lot of variety in terrain and effects, which is probably the biggest barrier to entry for non-gamers.

I should have backed this when I had the chance. I can't stop thinking about it. Guess I'll have to wait. In the meantime feel free to write lots and lots about it.

It might be worth mentioning, one thing in The Works that might interest some folks is a full co-op option. You can play against an endless Mouser swarm and see how long you survive. People are starting to post their high scores on the Facebook group page.

Someone with a TMNT KS pledge who doesn't like it might be willing to convince me to swap a Conan King KS pledge. Probably comparable value, dollars-wise.

Man, I'm behind on the times, this was a Kickstarter game? I thought you were talking about the HeroClix TMNT ...

Love this game. It's in my top five, maybe as high as 3 for the year.

You could buy the TMNT Heroclix figs cheap and play them in HeroScape using the custom builds at HeroScapers. Cheap option to play TMNT with the kids in a game you already have.
