Prefer the first edition, this looked too samey mechanic and flow-wise as a lot of their games coming these days.

Ha! Looks like you take on the role of the demons, not the good guys.

Oh, looks like this was announced a while ago. ... my bad. I don't pay attention to many board game releases that aren't Blood Bowl these days.

Its the same as before with a single Overlord/Invader and other players controlling the Heroes/Marines. This particular article is focused on the Invader player only so reading it is kind of confusing. You/your are referring only to the single Invader player.

I think this sounds like shit. Or, that's wrong. I think it looks to be a fun game and I like some of the stuff they are describing as a game. And it's probably a fine way of representing some of the stuff that's in the computer game. But as I wrote in the other thread this sounds too much like a game about a game instead of a game about fighting demons.

Maybe I'm becoming jaded but I think the miniatures look fairly bad.

Ha ha...you've been playing Betrayal at Calth...once you move into minis like that, the FFG/CMON style bubblegum machine figures don't cut it anymore.

I'm reviewing this for MM, we'll see how it goes. It's going to have to do a lot to earn a positive review.

I played it once in 2007, but not since. I did like Doom better than Descent.

What would have made this game more interesting from the start is if it were four demon players against one super tough marine.

Why hasn't anyone done that, flipped the all against one thing like that were the players are the bad guys and the "overlord" is the hero?

Innsmouth Escape did precisely that. Designed by FFG alum Darrell Hardy, and published by Twilight Creations, Innsmouth Escape is effectively the opposite of Fury of Dracula. The human player uses a small set of tokens to indicate secret movement on a grid map of Innsmouth and rescue innocents, while the one-to-four Deep One players try to intercept and kill him. Unfortunately the game has a scaling problem, with a sweet spot of 3 or 4 players. With just two players, it's a cakewalk for the human. With five players, the human has almost zero chance of winning.
