Relic Nemesis question was created by hotseatgames
I invited several people over to try out Relic this weekend. I have everything, so the game plays up to 6 people. I know that larger player counts can have some down time, but I also have had really bad turnout lately so I expected a 3, maybe a 4 player game. Now it looks like I may actually end up with 6. This is really the first attempt for this game in my group.
I'm mainly curious to those who have tried larger games of Relic... do you think they go over better when you bring in 1 or 2 nemesis players, or should everyone play a hero like normal? How about scenario choice? I know there is at least one cooperative scenario.
I like the idea of being a nemesis player. Do they spend the game griefing other players? Or is it not really all that different?

I've played with both expansions but only with up to 4 players.
The Nemesis does spend his or her time either beating down on the other players or getting rinsed by the other players. Its an interesting idea and can be fun but it can also be very frustrating. With 6 I would consider running one player as a nemesis because 6 regular players is quite a few. This will be a longer game I imagine. IMO if you do play as the nemesis you should read the table and see how its going as you can easily spoil someones time if you gun for them constantly. If you go for different players and keep things light hearted it can be quite fun. Like Talisman Relic with and without the nemesis expansion can sort of go hot or cold for a given player if their early die rolls are bad so its quite difficult to guess what will happen. I'd throw in the other expansion, the one that adds Terra if you have it. There's more great art and more spaces to visit and it adds a few extra routes to the centre of the board.
