Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
What game system / mechanism would you...
I would love to play the following:
1. War of the Rings using Triumph & Tragedy Rules
2. Star Wars, Star Trek or Ti3 using card driven mechanism
3. Dune using COIN
4. Guardians of Galaxy using Space Cadets Away Missions Over Kill mechanism
5. Fredrick / Maria for French Revolution
6. Storm over Helms Deep or Storm over Minas Tirith
7,. Secret Trump using Secret Hitler
8. Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy using Tales of Arabian Knights
9. Running of Bulls using Snow Tales
Any other cool ideas?

What if you used "Secret Hitler" as the foundation for a game about a secret Russian mole in the the current administration? That has some real Kickstarter appeal.

A resource management/Ameritrash/dudes on a map game based on THE WIRE and the street drug trade
The core mechanics of ANGOLA ported over to a different conflict
Awhile back I did see an unofficial Star Wars themed COIN game; its pretty hush hush due to the designer not having legit access to the IP. It looked pretty decent if you liked COIN. I think the Hutts were a faction, along with Rebels, Republic, Imperials I think.

Magic Realm combat and chit systems to simpler games
Game of Thrones CDG would be great
GMT FAB series (esp asset system) to 40k Sci Fi game
I'll think of others

That's it, I am going to work on THE WIRE game. We have discussed this here so much, and have such cool ideas. I would love this game. Prepare for disappointment!Msample wrote: A resource management/Ameritrash/dudes on a map game based on THE WIRE and the street drug trade

And what I love about ANGOLA is that it's about a shitty little war under the umbrella of a larger global ideological conflict and it acknowledges that. The element of currying favor from whatever off-board superpower's capricious whims are rising is such a weird idea, but critical to how conflicts have worked since WW2.

I was gonna suggest star wars scape, but yes, this is also good, and probably better.
I've given a lot of thought to how I'd make X-COM with a sturdy Heroscape backbone.
Monopoly Legacy in the Android or some other cyberpunk universe. Pawns moving around the board are runners and the spaces represent corporations. So the money funding the runners actually comes from rival corps!

Having just learned PAX RENAISSANCE, I wonder if that system would be a possibility. Think of all the cards you could have on the tableau for purchase....Stringer, Avon, Prop Joe ( with East Side and West side rows , and Prestige for Drugs ) , various law enforcement characters, lawyers/developers, the Greek....Omar would be akin to a Bishop, silencing a given card.

Nexus Ops into StarCraft Ops and Sekigahara era Japan using figs from Samurai Swords.
Krosmaster arena into a kaiju battle game.
Gorechosen into an even better kaiju battle game.
Cosmic encounter into a lovecraftian setting.
Roma and Roma II into a magical dueling game.
Space Hulk into Aliens.
Survive Escape from Atlantis into Escape from Arrakeen. (Atreides fleeing Arrakeen during the Harkonnen and imperial betrayal)
Things I want to retheme:
Technowitches into a Harry Potter quidditch game using figs from harry potter trivia game.
Old doom into 2 player diablo using figs from ddas.
40k or marvel heroscape.
Space hulk using eldar for the fall of Iyanden.

One my favorite games is Struggle of Empires. I don't see way that couldn't be re themed into a drug turf war game.
I like the structured alliances, area contriol and tech/policy mechanisms that could work for a drug cartel game or future cyber war game.

Deadzone in Android setting.

I think the City of Remnants was very close to The Wire, and the designer initially was going for a modern inner-city setting, but then got talked out of it because controversy. Which is irrelevant anyway, because unfortunately the game was not that good.
I think GF9 Sons of Anarchy was better as The Wire, but maybe it is because I don't care about SoA.
I want Netrunner with Dune setting, too
