Hahaha, no. For that kind of $$$ I expect a dense terrain. Not a couple of LoS blockers and some platforms which actually doesn't create that much interesting tactical situations.

You’ll be able to expand your game with extra models for the two squads in the box, or even add whole new races. The Kill Teams are all designed to be built around squads in an army you might already have, or can pick-up in a single boxed set. Here are a few of the units that you will be able to use, in case you wanted to get started building and painting now:

Skitarii Rangers
Chaos Space Marines
Cultists
Dark Eldar Wyches
Dire Avengers
Eldar Guardians
Harlequin Troupe
Grey Knights Strike Squad
Necron Immortals
Necron Warriors
Tau Empire Pathfinder Team
Tyranid Warrior Brood
Neophyte Hybrids
Scouts
Scouts with sniper rifles
Cadian Infantry Squad
Ork Boyz

There's my Genestealer Cults...looks like I'll be in the market for a Pathfinder box...already have Cultists (Execution Force)...may dip into Necrons too...

I really like that it is made so that you can buy a box unit and that's what you need. I hope it really is like that and stays like that.

Okay, so if you get Deathwatch Overkill and / or Assassinorum, what of the above does that get you?

That gets you the Neophyte Hybrids (Genestealer Cult), Chaos Space Marines, and Cultists. I would assume Assassins and Deathwatch kill-teams would eventually make it in as fluff-wise they are a better fit than most of the above list.

40k skirmish game with elements of Necromunda including vertical terrain- all plastic. Rules out of the box for 16 armies/factions. Orks/SMS in the "huge" box. Thinking $150 retail.

Farewell, monies!

It's $130 and there is an extra piece of scenery that it doesn't come with (the Magnavent Buhblahbuddadada).

I picked up a squad box of GC Neophyte Hybrids even though I already have DWO. I wanted the extra weapon choices and because I love those dudes- they have some webbers, a heavy stubber, flamers, something called a seismic cannon...but DWO gives you plenty of startup Neophytes with auto rifles, two with mining lasers and two with grenade launchers.

I wouldn't be surprised if you can use all of the Deathwatch marines in SW:A, probably as "hired guns" or something like that. The other GC stuff may be in SW:A too.

Execution Force will give you a ton of Cultists with autopistols, auto rifles, and various hand weapons. Not a lot of upgrade options for them, really. There are only 3 CSMs in the box with no options- just plain ol bolters. Assassins, I'm thinking hired guns there too.

I picked up an Optimized Tau Pathfinder Team for $40- I figured that Devilfish was worth an extra $10. Not sure how to build them yet though, need to see the rules. I also have some Dark Eldar Wyches coming because I really want to do an obnoxious Neon thing with them and they are mostly female, so my daughter might like to play with them (even if not in the game). The GC looks like they are going to be my "main"- already painting up the DWO ones in the Cult of the Rusted Claw colors- orange clothes, dirty light gray armor. Their skin is a pain in the ass.

I'll probably do some Necrons for it too...I'm sure I can spare 20 minutes to paint a box.

Miniwars has posted some more stuff from the new White Dwarf, specifically the rules for Skiitari and Genestealer Cults. It is looking like Deathwatch Overkill is going to be a GREAT buy if you want to play GSC. The other stage Genestealer Hybrids can be played as specialists, including purebred Genestealers who are of course terrifying melee combatants. Full list of weapons is included for both factions. I may have to get the Skiitari Rangers too, they have some cool sounding stuff going on. Skiitari are 5-10 models per gang, GSC are 5-15 which makes sense since they are a "swarm" force..

There's also some neat stuff like how the searchlights modeled on the GSC's mining suits help them find hidden units and special rules for when a Genestealer has more than two arms..

It all looks EXACTLY like Necromunda too...which is weird because Necromunda is essentially skirmish/kill team rules for 2nd edition 40k. So this new game is from five editions ago.

That's not super surprising when a lot of the stuff they have talked about for 40k 8th edition sounds like a mix of 2nd Edition and Age of Sigmar.

Wow. That looks like it may be almost as much terrain as the original Necromunda, except all plastic instead of cardboard. I miss the little cardboard barricades though.

Easy now chief, you are looking at a lot more terrain than is actually in the box. You get the Alchomite Stack and the Ferratonic Furnace along with walkways/bulkheads and such. The Galvanic Magnavent appears to be separate and not included in the big box. There is also a Haemotrope Reactor in those pictures (the big skull thing).

I am already completely stressed out about how to build/arrange all of this stuff. I hope there is a default thing and that you don't have to glue it all together. I can't wait, however, to paint all of this stuff in grungy oranges and yellows, I love that. Need to see if they do a gallon jug of Agrax Earthshade.

I built my GeneCult box today based on the WD rules. Out of it, I was able to make three leader options (web pistol/power maul, autopistol/power pick, bolter/chainsword (dude wants to be a SM).three guys with shotguns. Heavy Stubber (LOVE this thing), big webber, flamer and Seismic cannon. I forgot about the dynamite bundle so it didn't wind up on anybody but I may pry an arm off to get that on there. The auto rifle hybrids from DWO are perfect for the juve-class characters, and I've got the grenade launchers and mining lasers covered there. Also have the Acolytes with knives and autopistols from that set as well as some purebreeds. So I have a ton of WYSIWYG choices at all levels including specialists. Other factions will probably not be so lucky and will be more "counts as".

These dudes are practically a Necromunda cult in their looks and style anyway. Guys with visors, goggles, broke-down weapons, etc.

This looks super cool, but I have a hard time imagining interesting tactical situation on this one...

The lack of any corner and waist height free barrier I think...

Hiding that credit card bill from your SO would probably be an interesting tactical situation...that's like 10 sets put together.

That is amazing. And even if I could afford it, it would take me at least a year to get it to that point.
