pulls lots of stuff from Rogue One, and some other OT stuff (Jabba, Nebulon and does something to combat, which most people consider the weakest part of Rebellion. Back to the FFG tradition of the 1st expansion 'fixing' the game?
Don't think it needs fixing, but color me interested, even if this is one game where expansion stuff probably adds more bloat than anything gameplay wise.

I'm excited about this. I liked Rebellion a whole lot, and I was actually watching Rogue One the other day and thinking "I'd love to see some of this stuff incorporated into Rebellion."
Mixed on the new combat rules, without more info. I think it misunderstands the key complaint I've heard about the combat, which is that it's in the wargame tradition of essentially being a separate little game. I actually think the original combat is fine as is, for the most part.

Yeah, I'm kind of looking forward to the combat changes (unique decks for each side and reliance on unit effects like Forbidden Stars), but for people that really hate the combat this seems to exasperate it, as if they're doubling down on it.
I also think it's a little weird that the game has U-Wings and TIE Strikers before it has A/B-Wings and TIE Ints.
With that being said, I'm still very excited. This was my top game of 2016 (just edged out Captain Sonar) and could very well be a top 10 game for me.

The game was never broken its just some didn't understandably care for the combat system.

It sounds like they are "fixing" the combat by making it WORSE- i.e., more complex. Is fucking Trump running FFG?
The right way to do this would be "hey, we've added a simplified combat system for those that enjoy the rest of the game...and here is all of the cool Rogue One stuff".

Nothing wrong with the combat, those that don't like it there's always Star Wars Risk for them.
