I've seen a few people talking about this and it looks awesome. It's also fuck-all expensive. Anyone here actually play it?

Basically it's a citywide "get the fuck out of dodge" game.

I haven't played it but I saw the dice tower video of it. It looks fun.

Rahdo did a video on it a long while back. It looked like the most Euro Euro to ever Euro, though the artwork looks great.

Rahdo's videos piss me off so much. No idea why that stuff is so popular.

I have no idea why he feels the need to explain every rule and then the considerations of every move for each and every one of his examples, often multiple times. He's not teaching the full rules of the game and his videos are longer than most "how to play" videos that do teach the entire rulebook. Every time I try to watch one of his videos I start thinking LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Agreed. The Watch It Played stuff is disgustingly annoying and saccharin sweet, but at least they do a good job of explaining the game.

IMO people like Rhado because he demonstrates genuine enthusiasm for the industry and goes into detail about how he feels about each game. Also, he produces A LOT of content and reviews so he's a good source to find a video on an obscure game. He's also consistent, like the Dice Tower he's always generating new reviews every week.

A major difference between Rhado and Watch It Played is that Rhado give his opinions on how he feels about each game, both positive and negative. Watch It Played is really just a commercial and Rodney never gives any negative opinion on the game he's presenting.

I've played it a few times. The first game really wowed me. It's pretty unique in some areas, but something was just off enough to not have me rush right out and buy it. The luster wore off very quickly with the two subsequent plays. The cube drop mechanic is fun at first but you really feel its gimmicky-ness rather quickly. There isn't enough interesting stuff going out outside of it.

I had the game and played it solo af few times. There is a lot to like in it - especially the part about piling up dead zombies on a small gravestone. If they fall off, you have to put them back into the game.

However, the game is also somewhat of a mess. It's waaaay to long even when soloing, the graphic design is all over the place, and the rules are extremely sloppy. That being said, the basic idea of the game - explore by day, fortify and fight during night - and the different ways of getting out of Venice is quite neat. But to me it was simply too much of a hazzle to play in the end.

They are supposedly working on a second edition. I would be tempted to fund that if they streamlined both the game and the graphic design.
