There's a new DDAS game out there...and it's prepainted?

I'm too lazy to look this up now, but I think there's a prepainted "deluxe" version. You can still buy a version like the other games.

I am not in a place to buy up either this game or Temple of Elemental Evil (which I never bought) but I'm interested in the setting. Thumbing through the campaign book at a store made me want to just up and buy it right there.

This one is by Kevin Wilson. There is also a PC version on Steam.

Just submitted a review of the PC version to a site. It's really good - I'd take it over the physical version. Especially if you already own one or more of these Adventure system games. It keeps all the good stuff of the physical game and adds a much better levelling up system so you can build characters between quests.

Only minor niggle - from a board gamer's perspective - is that the creature AI is entirely automated. So you lose a little bit of tactics in choosing where the position the monsters. But the payoff is a more "live" seeming, faster game so, on balance, I'll take that as a fair trade.

That's good to hear; I almost got it, but I just got Warlock of Firetop Mountain in the latest Humble Bundle, and that is filling that need for now.

Theres some differences with the PC version though, doesnt it include some stuff like LOS rules

certainly easier to solo, but I'd rather get a game out on the table to play this multiplayer.

The prepainted minis are pretty horrendous, some very small, some just horrible paint jobs (not Heroscape original quality even). And they have that huge rolling vehicle mini which I think looks stupid, and I would rather they used that kilo of plastic on 4 decent sized proper monsters than what is essentially a rolling box with fancy runes on the outside. what the hell

The mummified snake thingy does not look great. I think the minis look rubbish and the price difference is rinobulous, its double over here (and the normal version aint cheap its more than 90 bucks, so the deluxe one is close to 200 bucks, 200 bucks, and its a horrible horrible mess.
- holy crap, you lot get it for 50 or 120 bucks thats quite a difference (still in NO WAY worth a 70 quid upgrade for those prepaints IMO)

Take Michaels advice and buy the normal set, and buy the Reaper learn to paint kit with it :)

I tried the PC version for a couple of tiles, it didnt wow me to be honest, I dont think the core gameplay translates super well, at least, I didnt think so, all that clicking squares and a new tile dropping down and the new monster/attack. It kind of highlights the pretty dull core mechanics of the game. Its a lot more fun to sit round a table with the family and make something of it

(I dont know if you can play it multiplayer on steam, I guess you can, that would probably be more fun).

70 more bucks to you guys

is this game so hot that theyre going to sell enough copies of all this? It seems insane for what it is.
