What is the worst game in your collection?

What is the worst game in your collection? What is so bad about it? Why do you still have it?

Mine is Elric. Not the Chaosium rpg rulebook, the wargame known as Elric. One to four players gather armies and battle to control the Cosmic Balance at the end of the world.

It's probably the worse game in my collection because it doesn't seem to be a playable game out of the box. The rules are a mess, and probably need extensive errata if not a complete re-write. The board is eye-catching, though closer to Dungeon Degenerates than realistic or attractive. For a game about the Cosmic Balance, there doesn't seem to be much balance to the game itself.

Despite all these issues, I have hung onto Elric for nearly 25 years, because I plan on running an rpg campaign in that setting again at some point. The board is a decent rendition of the map found in Moorcock's Elric books, and could be useful when the characters are traveling, especially at sea. I could probably even make the game work by just using the Divine Right rules instead, with a few extra components added in to that end.

Not counting family games, 'Dads Collection' looks like this:

Blood Bowl
Space Hulk
Silver Tower
Shadespire
Condotierre
Citadels
Lotr: Confrontation (1st ed)

Of my collection, I'm going to say the worst one right now is...LotR: Confrontation. Doesn'y really see much play lately, but I love the art and the small footprint. I'm going to need this in the retirement home, so I'm holding onto it. Though I could just buy it again later. I've got it at my work desk as it used to be a lunchtime title.

Counting the family games, my worst game is Dixit. We only have the base/core/first/whatever box and we have run out of ways to describe these cards. Game saw a lot of play though.

Per this website its fucking Reef Encounter.

Per that website people are always rating stuff its...wait for it...Dungeon Degenerates.

For me personally its probably Timber Peak. I've soured on 1vsAll games over the years and this was never the cream of the crop. Keep it thus far because its quick and gets some laughs and I've scavenged stuff from the original/expansions that I couldn't sell separate.

Bang! or San Juan. Card games are not really my thing.

I played San Juan for the first time in 7 years last weekend. It’s actually not bad. But I’d rather play Puerto Rico.

Bang is dead weight. We will never play it again because we have samurai sword which Is a far superior version of bang. I need to gift it to someone.

Worst game in my collection - Any of the 10 year old versions of Outburst, Cranium, Who Wants to be a Mllionaire, etc. Basically anything with stale dated trivia in it. I need to contribute to the glut of crap party games on the shelf at the local Goodwill.

Cards Against Humanity. The wife likes it. Sigh.

Coaster Park, It's dire. It's in my collection because it hasn't sold yet, despite the fact I'm pricing it at 30% of MSRP.

San Juan is a great game!

Worst game in my collection is probably Assassin (AH), which I've held onto for years because 1) I keep meaning to try the "designer's rules" that apparently make it borderline enjoyable and 2) it would quite literally be more trouble than it's worth to sell it.

Attack on Titan the deck-building game. I got it for the kids. As best I can tell, it is impossible to win. If the designers told me they had ever won, I wouldn't believe them.

It's still around because I have yet to succeed in selling it.

That's my worst game, too. My brother bought it for me because I like games and it's a game. Still in shrink.

I played it a half-dozen times, usually while drinking. At that point, I was like: OK. We're done here, right? We've seen all the cards. We've had some laughs. We know each other so well pretty much every answer is predictable. So, we're done, right? Right?

... Everytime people get together: "I have Cards Against Humanity with me!" I just take another drink and plan to leave early.

Worst game? Probably Grand Master. It's kind of one note and we used to use it as a filler, but haven't bothered in years.

Exploding Kittens. You're bored by the time your first game ends.

Wait, who is saying San Juan is "bad"? That's crazy talk, San Juan is a GREAT game. Man, I haven't played it in a long time...but it really does all of the same stuff that RFTG and Glory to Rome do but in a much more streamlined, compact way.

Several times per year, I go to a pitch-in dinner with my old goth crowd. When I first started going to these about a decade ago, we sometimes played Apples to Apples. Sometimes I brought boardgames and sometimes they even got played. Then came Cards Against Humanity, and later Crabs Adjust Humidity, and those became mandatory... until they became boring. Someone keeps bringing CAH, but it's easier for me to get my games on the table now. The goths like horror movies, so Camp Grizzly is their favorite.
