A new kind of review

Have you seen this guy's reviews on BGG? http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/31385

He uses the GeekList style of posting to include lots of pictures, compare games, discuss mechanics, components and theme and people can comment on each part. It's pretty unique and I think they're pretty great. He's done two previously on Pandemic and Cosmic Encounter.

I saw that when he first posted--it's a cool way to do a review. I'm surprised there wasn't more bitching--I think the last time someone tried to do a Geeklist like that there were a lot of "post this in the reviews!" type complaining...you know, the guys who say "Would've been a better forum post!" or post links to a similar previous geeklist, as if to say "THIS HAS BEEN DONE~!"

I liked the review, but don't think the geeklist format is a good way to go. Its going to disappear amongst all the other geeklists for that game so anyone looking for reviews won't see it. Which is too bad because it deserves better than to get lumped in with all the craplists.

I like the review as well but Mad Dog is right. It's going to get lost in the morass of crappy geeklists. There should be a way to pin it on the Doom page so this particular list is always the first one you see there.

Yeah it does get lost in the geek lists. but I still like the format.

The Cosmic Encounter one is superb. I suggested that it might be worth submitting a 'review' that links to the GeekList, just so it doesn't get lost.

That's a good idea.

I read the cosmic encounter review and like the format. It may be a start to make them into a metageeklist. Linking from the review sections certainly helps (if enough people recommend).
