Just curious what people think.

This has been an f'd up week for me with family drama. Wondering if my emotions got the better of me on this one:

Thank you for your candor,as you skewer me.

Heh. At least you said yeah they did (emotions) instead of yes there is (a stick) :)

Leave it to Skel to put a smile on my face in this post. Thank you sir.

I wouldn't mind trying that game but the publishers 'poor us' carry on really turns me off.
Publishing such a game is not in any way daring, so get the fuck over yourselves already!

WoT is the sort of game that is best played while floating in a kiddy pool drinking PBR. In my humble opine. I would as soon take Munchkin seriously as this game.

It's a fun game.....that does manage to capture the hopelessness that the war on terror seems to convey. If you are one of the Empire nations, you can only watch as the little black dots spring up all over the world and there's not much you can do about it.

I can't read your thread- its blocked from school.

WoT is one of the best games on the market but only if you play with evil vicious conniving players...perfect with my group.

While the game is not half bad, it actually fairly fun. This publisher guy is a total liar when it comes to numbers. We called him out when he first published the site "claiming" he had over 5K "pre-orders".

He's used his "free speech" and "i'm the victim" card a lot, that even though he may have a decent product, his tactics put a sour taste in my mouth. As for did he sell 11K games, from what I've seen, doubt it.

An extremely fun game if played with cruel intentions and a thick skin. We're still arguing whether it's biased towards the terrorists. As far as I'm concerned: everything that Risk was supposed to be.

Yeah, I'll agree with SenorOcho. But I'll point out that you handled yourself diplomatically and didn't push your point beyond reason. I think most of us see where you're coming from and respect that. In my opinion S. Waits is the one with the stick up his ass. Some things can't be forgotten just because others don't want to hear about it anymore.

That said, I admit I'd like to give the game a try myself.

So what difference does it make to *YOU* if you he had 5000 or 5 pre-orders?

I doubt he's lying about the sales, there's almost nothing to gain from it...the thing is, he's probably including wholesale distribution into that figure, which could mean that there's 10,000 copies sitting on shelves around the world. So yeah, he may very well have sold that many- but there's no telling how many have actually been sold to consumers.
