MMP's Preorder System Just Slashed Preorder Counts.

I don't know if there is an error in the system or if a big purchaser declared bankruptcy or what, but it appears that all of MMP's preorder numbers have plummeted. Does anyone have information on this? There's been huge weather issues at MMP's headquarters but this would be a very strange kind of error to see come out of a power failure.

Brian posted on the MMP CSW forum that the pre order numbers were going to drop. Something about not importing pre-orders that were 2+ years old into the new system. They still exist, but they won't be included in the p500 counts of their new system. Clear as mud I know.

So anyone who has not confirmed their old preorder on their new system is out of the count now. I was wondering how they had handled that, apparently they hadn't.

Thanks for the update.

On a positive note, Kingdom of Heaven is finally out. You picking up a copy, Sag?

I had two copies preordered years ago but canceled when it didn't print after making its goal. To some extent it was out of dissatisfaction with the execution of the agreement, but frankly it just got to the point that I lost interest in the game. All the fun newness had worn off and I found other titles to go after instead. I suppose I should have held onto one just to have it to trade for something hard to find.

Ah, was wondering about this. I checked the preorders for 'Crusade and Revolution' today and was not exactly happy to see it take a big step backward - now I know.

Very much looking forward to my copy of 'Kingdom of Heaven'. Should be here this week.

This disappointing. I've been champing at the bit for Storm over Normandy and What Price Glory since they were announced, but neither have set the pre-order trail on fire. Now the wait will be even longer, if they make the cut at all.

Bless you, sir, for using this phrase correctly. May all of your children be brilliant and mighty-thewed. Even the girls. Especially the girls.

I don't think "chomping" would be incorrect. It may not be the original phrasing, but chomp and champ are synonyms. Here in the US, people probably would consider anyone saying champ as pretentious (yeah, I probably fit that description).

Turn your grammar nazi back on and get it recalibrated. :D

Even if one spuriously allows 'chomp' to replace 'champ', which is incorrect, one does not chomp 'at' things in colloquial English language (unless they are floating in the air, I suppose); we chomp 'on' things. So 'chomping at the bit' is wrong in both formal and colloquial English.

Ergo: MattDP is awesome.

Gone are the days when a Sisyphus reference would get a graceful nod from the literati.

I've given up on all p500 orders, but if It never Snows can make it before BGG.Con I may make an exception.
