I was about to say that this would be the first kickstarter I threw down on but I don't know. Awesome looking game but shitty kicksarter. 1starter set is $80. Not a bad deal but no stretch rewards. To qualify for those you have to pay $140, and you don't even get 2 starters for that, just 1 and a few extras. So far the only stretch goal unlocked isn't even a freebie but an add on extra you have to buy.

I mean damn I want to throw money at this but ill wait and see what the stretch goals end up being like.

And X-wings ain't got shit on veritechs.

I'm sorry, I know the robotech was first. But those are the Warhammer, Rifleman, Phoenix hawk, and Marauder to me.

Heh, yea, that's so true. I was a Robotech junkie though. Can't decide on this one. I'm less excited about it if the stretch-goals are going to mostly be cost plus-ups. Reaper Bones, it ain't...

I'm not backing shit until I see how it plays. The underlying mecahanics, the scenarios...all of the things that define it as a game.

I have Reaper shit coming, I have X-Wing, and I have fifty miniatures already needing painting. This is an Autobuy, but only if there's a game behind it.

Yep. Same here. Now I thought I saw a link somewhere in all the noise that the rules were posted somewhere. I'll have to go hunt that up...

I was all over this, but ugh at that pricing. $20 for ONE officers battle pod? And it is unpainted? WTF, over? They are pricing these things way too much, I think I'll wait for the retail. So far I have not seen a single free stretch goal, the one upcoming (probably up now) looks like more battle pods. Even the Rick hunter battliod is $15 for ONE mini with what, a different head? No play mats, no terrain, no rulers, just a box of minis. The base game has what, 7 sculpts?

Dog: No. They are going to release a gameplay video after Ascentcon or whatever it's called but they couldn't be bothered to upload the PDF rules.

Update:

I emailed them to ask about the rules, or lack thereof, and that it's a big stretch to ask people to drop 140$ on a bunch of pretty miniatures.

The response:
"The rules are still in development. We will be releasing a game play demo video soon."

This just dropped in priority by an order or two of magnitude. Looks like this is just "hey, buy some new minis that are Robotechy, because they look awesome."

I can buy Mechwarrior: Dark Age shit so deep it's ridiculous for that kind of money. Or Classic Battletech. And there's a great game attached to the latter.

FTS.

^Exactly. If there are no rules, it really is pretty much just a bunch of minis you're kickstarting...

The rules thing is BS. They have been playtesting for months. I follow the blog of the guy who got this whole thing started. He could easily post rules, or at least post HIS rules, who knows what palladium is doing to them.

I kinda just want a "one of each" option. I doubt I'ill ever play this game so a dozen or more battle pods is pointless. I want the destroids for BT and the rest for display. You never know though, this could be a good rule set. How big would the SDF-1 be at this scale? :)
