I just came across this game at Boardgamegeek and it looks really cool. Have you played it? What can you tell me about it?

It's a fun one. It's incredibly cinematic, but there are a lot of chrome rules to make that happen.
But because it's solitaire if you screw something up it's not a big deal.

Be aware that its old school AH - Greenwood rules are not known for their clarity and accessibility. And the amount of wristage early on is very high til the ships land the commandos.
Once ashore, the game moves along pretty quick, and generates a very compelling narrative. A lot comes down to how well you do against the dry dock.

I traded for a copy years ago and every time I sit down to read the rules I just disengage. I really want to play, but at this point in my life I don't have the time to sit down and slowly draw the rules from the rulebook. So I'll keep it around and hopefully someday I'll find someone to teach me or have the time to figure it out. Looks awesome though!

Complex rules don't scare me, I can deal with that
What's a fair price for this game?

I think you're across the pond from me, but if you have a hard time sourcing a copy let me know and I'm sure I can be talked into letting go of my copy for a reasonable price.

It's a good game with a great narrative.
I didn't find the rules too complicated; but then again I learnt Up Front by myself easily. It's on the lower scale of Avalon Hill Games complexity. It's a bit more complex than B-17 but less complex than Ambush.
If I had to criticise one thing about the game, it's that the opening fire against your ships can be pretty conclusive depending on how badly you roll.
There a used copy available on BGG for £20, which I believe is a fair price. It shouldn't get much cheaper. Unpunched it would probably fetch about double that, like €35 to €50.
