Here's a positive post.

A buddy and I continue to play a lot of Manoeuvre. Now, we're doing campaigns.

Essentially, we start with the two lowest tiered armies (the US and Ottomans), with the winner keeping the army they won with and the loser taking the next higher ranked army in the following game. We do this all the way up the French. So, essentially an elminination system, with seven games in a campaign.

We're in the midst of our second campaign, and we've incorporated a scoring system now. Beating a lower ranked army = 2pts, beating a higher ranked army = 3pts. So, the best score would be if someone could take the Americans all the way up against the French for a perfect score of 21pts. It is possible for one player to get too far ahead in points, but we'll still finish the campaign to keep a running tally of how well we do overall.

As we stand now, the Ottomans beat my Americans (2pts to the Ottomans), and due to a severe lack of field leadership they trumped the Spanish afterwards (3pts to the Ottomans). With my opponent on a nice 5-0 point lead, the Ottomans are going to continue their rampage into the heart of Europe where the Austrians will hope to put in end to their incursion.

I do love Manoeuvre.

Every time you post about Manoeuvre I get jealous! Easily one of my Top 5 under played games on my self. And I think I'm finally starting to work my Attack Wing contacts into a few reliable 2-player game opponents and maybe in the next few weeks I can sneak this one onto the table.

Could you share your Tiers? That's something I've been wondering about because I know they're not all balanced, nor intended to be and that's something I'd like to keep a copy of in the game.

The tiers are listed in the rulebook. I forget the page number but it's listed in order of tiebreaking starting with the French (the highest) down to the US (the lowest).
